Digital footprint
How would you explain the idea of "digital permanence" to anyone in your spheres of influence? Why should we care and be aware of this concept?
Digital permanence is the concept of how once you share something on the Internet, it's going to stay on there forever. Even though it may be deleted, it could have been reposted, shared, or even passed on. This is harmful because something can be out there without consent or realization. What we put online is how we are portrayed and that can either be positive or negative.

Before we post something, we should think if it is a good idea. Will I harm anyone by posting this? Will this negatively affect me? Is it necessary? Asking yourself questions will help you decide whether or not you should post something. Although it's so simple just to click the post button, it's important to realize the actions and possible consequences. Once it's there, there is no way to undo it. Not only is the post available for the whole Internet to see, but it is also visible to many organizations and third-parties that you have no control over. We should all be mindful of the idea of digital permanence before we put something on the Internet, as it could affect us in some way in the future.
